Sandela 50 (previously just Sandela renamed by Givaudan when Sandela 85 was launched) is one of the most natural smelling synthetic sandawood notes. 50 refers to it always having been being diluted 50% in IPM (iso Propyl Myristate) for easy handling as the neat material is extremely viscous. Givaudan dont sell the neat material. Keywords:sandalwood oriental fougere chypre muguet santal fixative. Even though Sandela 50 or Sandela 85 are quite powerful some people find them virtually odourless. If this is the case for you smelling it from the skin may work better for you to evaluate it

Skatole 1% in DPG

Dilution of Skatole 1% in DPG Skatole (Methyl Indole) has a very animalic civet-like odour but not as fecal with cleaner napthalene decaying-flesh facets too. If creating a Civet replacement or needing a cleaner Civet note this is a must. Other fragrances where this may be useful are Leather, Animalic, Chypre, Tobacco and traces (ex. less than 0.01%) in any floral especially White florals, Floral Orientals Earthy, Oceanic fragrances but here you will need to dilute to 1% or less before using it. Warning very powerful we recommend experiencing this as a 1% dilution the first few times you try it. Note can cause severe discolouration like its relative Indole.

Solubilizer (Polysorbate 20)

Solubilizer (Polysorbate 20) is a water solubiliser for essential oils and perfume compounds. It has a faint warm-oily shampoo like note. Use from 4 parts Polysorbate 20 to, 1 part oil or compound. Mix the Polysorbate with the oil or perfume compound well then add the water slowly, stirring all the time. Note: Using some ethanol (20-30%) with the water will help the clarity of the end product and you may be able to reduce the amount of solubilizer necessary. As with all solubilisers the exact amount required for a completely clear solution depends on each compounds own ingredients and some materials like citrus oils and resins are almost impossible to get completely clear.
